Evanston Epoxy Flooring is an epoxy flooring company in Evanston, IL, with more than 20 years of grinding, testing and coating concrete floors. We work on home garages and basements, the shared floors of condominium buildings, and the working floors of shops, labs, service bays and commercial kitchens.
What ties all of that together is a simple view of the trade: a floor coating is only as good as the concrete under it and the honesty of the quote that sold it. Most of what we do differently follows from that.
Our Approach

We start with the slab, not the color chart. Every floor is opened with a diamond grinder or shot blaster, never acid etched, and garage and basement slabs get a moisture test written into the scope as its own line item. Before we quote, we read the cracks, the old paint and any old coating, and we say plainly when a slab needs repair before it can be coated. We also tell owners up front that a coating is a film that follows the slab beneath it, not a way to stop a slab from moving.
The proposal names the product, the system build and the finished thickness, so what was quoted can be checked against what went down. Warranty exclusions are read out before the job is sold, with moisture first. Curing is scheduled against slab temperature and dew point rather than the calendar, and when an unheated garage has to wait for spring, we say so. Every home job gets a written contract and the state consumer-rights pamphlet before work begins, as the Illinois Home Repair and Remodeling Act requires.
We also respect the rules and the neighbors around each job. Illinois issues no state license for flooring or coatings work, so we show the registration, bond and insurance each city or village asks for instead. Products are chosen within the Illinois limits on VOC content, which bind the installer as well as the manufacturer, and we never sell a floor coating as radon reduction, which in Illinois takes a state radon mitigation license. Loud grinding stays inside each town’s construction hours, condominium and two-flat jobs are scheduled with the association or the other owner first, and commercial work is planned around the hours a building has to stay open.
What We Do
We install epoxy garage floors, flake epoxy floors, metallic epoxy floors, polyaspartic floor coatings, basement floor epoxy and polished concrete for homes, along with commercial epoxy flooring, ESD flooring and commercial kitchen flooring for businesses. We also handle concrete grinding and concrete floor repair, whether as preparation for a new floor or as a job on its own. If you have a floor in mind, request a free estimate and we will come look at the slab before we put a number on it.
